For research help, leave a message on our Facebook page.
Our members range from the beginner who has just discovered an old box of Grandma’s letters and photos, to members who are accredited, professional genealogists. Both make use of our library, online resources and share their experiences with other members.
We hold monthly meetings from September through May where experienced members share knowledge and techniques for discovering family history. We also schedule at least two special programs during the year for more in depth learning.
Our library reflects diverse interests and over the years we have amassed an extensive collection of over 15,000 books and other items, covering a very large range of genealogical and historical interests. Our catalog is available on this website to search our holdings. Our website contains databases of local death notices and obituaries (over 280,000); local municipal cemeteries (over 42,000); and a surname index to Ancestry, our quarterly journal with over 100,000 entries.
We have several projects in progress with well over 500,000 pages already scanned. By digitizing these documents, we have made them computer searchable saving researchers many hours of browsing. Even if you have searched our published holdings, this new format makes a another visit to our library worthwhile.
We hope you will realize the benefits in joining our society, whether your research is focused on Palm Beach County area, or some other part of the state, or country. Cruise our website, attend our meetings, read our publications, and generally get to know us, whether for a few weeks or several months. Check out our schedule of upcoming events, and then plan to take part whenever you have the opportunity. We look forward to having you as our newest member.
